Dubble Bubble was invented in 1928 by an accountant named Walter Diemer.
McKeesport Candy Co. was one of the first wholesalers in the nation to offer this bubble gum; it was “controversial” as it was the FIRST Pink gum ever offered!
Part of Diemer’s marketing campaign, much to the chagrin of parents for multiple generations, was to have his salespeople blow bubbles.
Prior to Dubble Bubble, there were no gums available that allowed for this, um, unique use
