choward’s scented violet gum

chowards violet gum has a uniquely floral flavor and texture as the recipe hasnt changed much since it first appeared in 1934. the pieces are much like the much-loved chiclets, with a crisp sugar shell and a soft interior. unlike other chewing gum, these are small, purple squares with a shiny surface. the gum itself has a strong initial flavor which becomes pleasantly mild as you chew. it tends to be a bit grainychalk that up to the early recipe and enjoy!
